Dr. Blanchard Fosgate was the physician at the Auburn Prison.
He was also a Trustee of the Auburn Academy II for twenty two years.
The Fosgate residence was on South Street, next to Fred Fay's.
Fred bought the Fosgate house and tore it down,

Auburn Savings Institution (bank) opened on May 19, 1849.
His deposit was $50. He was also the only person
to open an account on the bank's first day in business.
